Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire you?

With 9 plus years of stump grinding experience and 3 very different grinders I can assess the job and then efficiently and effectively complete the job better than most. I also have a sub compact tractor and a dump trailer for clean up. I’m a one man operation, it will be me that you communicate with and it will be me that shows up to do the job. I guarantee my work, if I don’t get the stump ground to the agreed upon depth or if I miss something I will come back and fix it for free.

How do you price a job? Do you charge per stump?

I look at the job as a whole, I do not charge per stump. Some stumps take 5 minutes to grind others can take 2-3 hours. I charge by time, wear and tear, difficulty and the amount of grinding that is needed. Let me know what you are going to do with the area after the stump is removed. For example, are you wanting to put a new tree in the area or do just want the stump below grade so you don’t have to look at it? Do you want to plant grass or pour concrete after I’m done? These factors will affect the price as well as how I do the job.

Do you do free bids?

Maybe. More often than not with a couple pictures and a few questions I’m able to give you a price or at least a price range without seeing the job in person. Not having to make two trips to the job helps keep my expenses down and I’m able to pass this savings onto you. If necessary I will look at the job in person and give you a bid but please try to meet me halfway and give me a job description first.

What does a typical job cost?

$150-350 is what a typical job will cost.

How do I prepare for a stump grinding?

Have all rocks, pavers, dog poop, etc., moved away from the stump. I need a clear path to the stump as well.

Do you fix sprinklers?

No I do not. If you show me where they are I will try to avoid cutting them but sometimes they are going through the work area and it is unavoidable.
